Meet Mr. Searls – Horn’s Newest 1st Grade Teacher!

Searls_Staff_Spotlight (4)Who has inspired you most?

My 1st grade teacher Mrs. Cameron inspired me to become a teacher.  Growing up in Iowa City I was lucky to always have great teachers, but Mrs. Cameron always knew how to make learning fun and inspire the kids to reach for more.  In general, my parents have inspired me with their work ethic and by always holding me to high standards and encouraging me to always do everything to the best of my abilities.

carnival_ticketsExactly three months from today, Horn School will host its annual Winter Carnival and Silent Auction. The classrooms transform into carnival games, and the evening ends in a fun-filed auction/raffle where everyone has the chance to win parties with a special teacher.

While the Extravaganza is an annual event, we are changing the format in some exciting ways. Come find out what’s happening and all of the ways it’s possible to help, then choose what best fits your interests and time availability.

We will host an organizational meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 5:30-6:15 p.m. at Horn School.  Even if you can’t come to the organizational meeting, please sign up with your name and email so we can be in touch and you can be involved.
