Resolving Racial Disparities in Johnson County’s youth-serving systems Meeting

The Johnson County Disproportionate Minority Contact Committee is holding a community forum and would like to hear from you! Community leaders, peace officers and school administrators will be present to answer questions and help facilitate ideas about how we can work together to eradicate the racial disparities that are present in many of our Johnson County youth serving systems. Your voice is beneficial whether you are seeing things that are positive or that need work–the more input the better our community’s needs can be met. This event is free and open to the public!

Apples and Tractors – Kindergarten Field Trip to Wilsons!

apple_orchard_2014 (26)The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) recently funded the kindergarten field trip to Wilson’s apple orchard in September.  The kids took three buses to Wilson’s where they learned about different apple varieties, taste tested apples, read stories, took a tractor ride and enjoyed the beautiful day!   The PTO provided $350 to cover the expenses of the field trip.  Below are lots of pictures of the kids enjoying their day as well as thank you cards from the kindergarten rooms.

Thank you parents for supporting our school to make enrichment opportunities like this available to our students!

Important!

Reminder – our Fall Fund Drive is still going! We try not to have students sell items like wrapping paper and candy where only a small fraction of proceeds benefit the school.  Instead we are asking for a small donation from families.  100% of these donations go directly to Horn school. Please consider a donation today.
