The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) recently funded the kindergarten field trip to Wilson’s apple orchard in September. The kids took three buses to Wilson’s where they learned about different apple varieties, taste tested apples, read stories, took a tractor ride and enjoyed the beautiful day! The PTO provided $350 to cover the expenses of the field trip. Below are lots of pictures of the kids enjoying their day as well as thank you cards from the kindergarten rooms.
Thank you parents for supporting our school to make enrichment opportunities like this available to our students!

Each year the Horn Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) financially sponsors the 6th grade student School of the Wild experience. Please see photos below of our Horn students enjoying their week and a sampling from students sharing why they LOVE Week of the Wild.
School of the Wild (SOW) is a week long program for students through the University of Iowa where they are immersed in nature for hands on environmental learning at the Macbride Nature Center. This year the Horn PTO contributed $2075 toward the 6th grade field trip which along with a grant from the ICCSD Foundation and Iowa City Community Credit Union covered the week experience for 63 Horn students. It was a fantastic enrichment opportunity!
